- ➤ Rockford and Winnebago County announced events for America’s 250th anniversary that will include a community cleanup on April 22, a youth concert on May 8, an immersive dinner on June 27, and a Fourth of July parade on July 4. - ➤ A special bench at Discovery Center honors the legacy of Jalyah Thompson — an 11-year-old who died in February 2025 after being bullied. Visitors can create music by touching hands on the bench as part of the museum’s Melody in Motion exhibit. WIFR
