ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Cleanup is underway at Christ United Methodist Church (4509 Highcrest Rd) after its organ caught fire Monday night, causing about $100K in damage; firefighters controlled the blaze within minutes and no one was hurt. WIFR
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Possessions is now located at the Highcrest Centre on N. Alpine Road, moving into the former 6,500 sqft Nihan & Martin space in Rockford. The family-run store will open early next month and offer new features such as a flower station and coffee cart (from Ivy House). Rock River Current
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bell School Road’s southbound lane + multi-use path between Waterford Drive and Temple Court in Cherry Valley are closing intermittently due to tree clearing along Madigan Creek. Closures will run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and will last for four weeks subject to weather. Rockford Register Star
