- ➤ Christ United Methodist Church members gathered Sunday for an 'Opposite of Jericho' prayer walk around the sanctuary after an organ fire on Monday; the church said the event provided a time to sing, read scripture, and pray for restoration with support growing from neighboring congregations and the Rockford community. - ➤ CherryValle Mall hosted Quad Con, a comic and toy show that featured card games, LEGO sets, and independent comic works, drawing a strong turnout on Sunday; show coordinator John Wells — who started the event in 1989 — said it will return in October. WIFR

- ➤ Monarch Energy shifted from green hydrogen plans using CO2 from local landfills to proposing a $12B Rockford data center south of the airport; construction will start in 2027 with operation expected by 2028 (creating 200 tech jobs, over 1,000 construction jobs, and nearly $60 million in annual tax revenue).
