- ➤ Dozens gathered outside the Federal Courthouse Sunday for the Be Brave Together rally that coincided with International Women's Day to support women and survivors of violence while local organizers called for accountability and everyday acts of courage. WIFR
- ➤ Rockford developer and philanthropist Sunil Puri died Sunday after battling head and neck cancer at 65. He founded First Midwest Group and supported local organizations, and a celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 14 at City First Church + local officials recognize his contributions. - ➤ Northern Illinois voters will address an advisory referendum on a federal education tax credit in the upcoming primary that gives up to $1,700 for donations to scholarship programs (non-binding) if Governor Pritzker opts in, though residents still get the tax credit if the state declines to join.
