EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Shirland Community Consolidated School District 134 reported a total of 96 students for the 2024-25 school year, including 81 white students who made up 84.4% of enrollment, according to the Illinois State Board of Education. The number of white students remained steady compared to last year. Rockford Sun
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Walgreens — following public concerns — is urging residents to update their vaccines as measles cases rise in Illinois. The company’s immunizations director said vaccination remains the safest way to prevent the disease as state health officials report three cases, including one in DeKalb County. WIFR
