- ➤ More than 50 people attended a meat raffle fundraiser at Finnegan's Cottage on North 2nd Street Sunday that offered meat from Pinnon's and Mead's Meat Market every 30 minutes. Funds raised supported the K-9 unit of the Loves Park police department and the bar plans to host similar fundraisers monthly—showing strong local support. WIFR
- ➤ On Sunday, families joined a sensory-friendly Easter egg hunt at Alpine Hills in Rockford where over 100,000 plastic eggs were hidden for children to find. Community leaders such as Ald. Frank Beach and Ald. Aprel Prunty backed the event that let children with special needs enjoy extra space and fun features — organizers hope to set a world record next year — as the celebration encouraged a more inclusive community. - ➤ Rockford wrapped up the 2025 national collegiate table tennis championship Sunday at the UW-Sports Factory — over 250 college students from more than 50 universities competed in singles, doubles, and team events. This was the first time in 10 years that the event was held in Rockford and featured players from the US and international schools. WIFR
