- ➤ Jeep Run kicked off at 11:45 a.m. today at Firehouse Pub in Roscoe to raise funds for Shriners Children’s transportation by visiting local businesses; police assist traffic as Jeep owners travel to Hydeout Bar in Poplar Grove, Benny’s Pub in Cherry Valley, Cruisin’ I-39 in Monroe Center and finish at The Filling Station in Rockford where music, prizes and giveaways run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. WIFR
- ➤ Local law enforcement agencies are showing K-9 units and a bomb robot at CherryVale Mall as part of Police Week in Winnebago County through Sunday May 18. The event honors fallen officers and offers community members a meet and greet (with a final K-9 demonstration at 5:30 p.m. Sunday) to see police work up close. WIFR

- ➤ Deputies found a dead man in the Espenscheid Memorial Forest Preserve around 6:15 a.m. on May 17th—there was no indication of suspicious circumstances, and the coroner’s office was called to the scene. WTVO

- ➤ Nearly 40 students were celebrated at the Saint Anthony College of Nursing graduation on May 16 at 700 W. Riverside Boulevard—38 earned degrees, including 10 from the graduate program—and most plan to work at Saint Anthony to help ease the nurse shortage. WIFR
