- ➤ Winnebago County is hosting the Hooked on Fun Kid's Fishing Derby at Four Lakes Forest Preserve on Saturday, June 13 from 9-11 a.m. The free event offers gear + lunch + raffle prizes for young anglers. Rockford Register Star
- ➤ Over the weekend, Pec Thing at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds brought more than 500 local vendors offering antiques, art, handmade goods, florals and food, and over 8,500 visitors paid a visit. The event started in 1981 and became a popular semi-annual community festival. WIFR

- ➤ Rockford Preservation Company is set to discuss local landmark status for 28 key buildings during its meeting on May 22 at Veterans Memorial Hall. The firm aims to protect historic sites (like the Faust Hotel and Woodruff House) to secure restoration funding. Northern Public Radio
- ➤ Rockford will host RockYard Music Fest on Aug. 14-15 at Davis Park, where the newly renovated park will host free live music, art, food, games, and fireworks — an event timed with America 250 celebrations and 815 Day festivities. Rockford Register Star
