- ➤ A Harlem Roscoe firefighter died while at work Monday morning, though not on a call, and a procession gathered outside the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office as local departments including Rockton Fire Protection District + Stillman Fire Protection District shared their condolences. WIFR

- ➤ Rockford Symphony Orchestra renewed music director Yaniv Attar's contract for five more seasons, marking continued growth over the past three years. - ➤ More than 1,000 sites across Illinois offer free summer meals for children under 18 through state and federal programs — Rockford families can visit local schools and community centers for meals at varying times and should verify hours before attending. WIFR
- ➤ U.S. Department of Health and Human Services data shows that Rockford Medicaid payments for orthotic procedures increased 51.3% in 2024 to $312,736, up from $206,663 in 2023+ spending was concentrated in ZIP codes 61108 and 61107. Rockford Sun
