CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Rockford Police arrested John Guirlando on July 17 after reports said he spun a handgun on his finger like a cowboy near Bell School Avenue—officers retrieved a firearm from his pocket and confirmed his FOID card and concealed carry license had been revoked—he is also facing outstanding court warrants. - ➤ Rockford police arrested 24-year-old Miguel Rodriguez on July 17 after a two-day investigation showed he sold cocaine and he admitted to buying drugs from a supplier—he faces charges for manufacturing and delivering cocaine plus two counts of possession of schedule four narcotics and was granted pretrial release on July 18. - ➤ Kinnikinnick Community Consolidated School District 131 suspended 136 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Illinois Report Card—these suspensions were given exclusively to elementary and middle school students.
