- ➤ In 2024, almost 5,000 people attended Loves Park’s third annual Rhythm of the Heart Music Festival, which began as the city’s 75th anniversary celebration and grew into an event with free festivities—such as a VFW color guard, car show, K9 demonstration and live music—that invited residents to enjoy inclusive community entertainment. - ➤ On Saturday, July 26, families gathered at ICNA Relief’s Rockford location where 500 children received free backpacks with supplies, haircuts, and lunch. - ➤ Rockford city has proposed a $15.5 million plan to revamp Davis Park with a new concert stage, skatepark, playground, paths and other amenities, with work set to begin this fall and wrap up by early summer 2026—contracts will be reviewed by the Finance and Personnel Committee on Monday night as aldermen debate the park's design.
