- ➤ Rockford’s Hero Climb was held on Sunday, Sept. 7 at Swanson Stadium as Kirkland firefighter Dylan Johnson and about 150 participants climbed 110 flights of stairs to honor first responders who died on 9/11 — raising funds for The Greg Lindmark Foundation and engaging local fitness enthusiasts and youth in remembrance. - ➤ The 4th Annual Hero Climb took place Sunday at Guilford High School to honor 9/11 victims—over 100 first responders in full gear climbed stairs designed to mimic the towers to raise mental health awareness for those who served. WTVO
- ➤ On Sunday, nearly 70 cars gathered at Rock Valley College for a car show that brought local veteran organizations and OCD Car Club together to raise funds for services helping veterans. Ryan Russell from the Rock Valley Veterans Club said 120 students have benefited from the program that keeps veterans engaged after service. WIFR

- ➤ Rockford Police are investigating a shooting on Charles Street that killed a 21 year old man near a CITGO gas station—officials ask the public to avoid the area during their investigation. WIFR
