  • Today at Rockford City Hall, the Rights in Motion fair offers people with disabilities essential resource information, voter registration guidance, and accessible facilities—featuring speakers such as Winnebago County Clerk Lori Gummow along with a food truck and DJ to create an inclusive atmosphere.  WIFR
  • On September 13, volunteers from 815 Stone Scrubbers dedicated grave markers at Cedar Bluff Cemetery to honor 32 Civil War veterans, with local groups and historians joining the effort. The ceremony included flag presentations, a performance of Amazing Grace — a tribute to the soldiers' sacrifice — and remarks from community leaders to ensure these veterans are remembered.  Rockford Register Star
  • The Rockford area Conferences of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul hosted the 8th annual Friends of the Poor walk that began at 10:30 a.m. today at Y Log Lodge along the Rock River Recreational Path—participants donated funds to help local residents facing rising homelessness and housing costs. Volunteers have aided nearly 4,000 people and provided over $285,000 in financial support for those in need across Winnebago County.  WIFR
