- ➤ On Oct 18, a large crowd gathered in downtown Rockford to join the 'No Kings' rally—one of over 2,700 organized across the U.S. Rockford Register Star
- ➤ Hundreds gathered at Neighbors Bar + Grill to raise funds for Doc’s Diner after a fire forced the restaurant to close, and the event drew about 200 people who raised over $600 in a raffle. The family plans to reopen the diner by late October or early November. WIFR

- ➤ Rockford Public Schools partnered with Tricoci University of Beauty Culture to host a Day of Beauty and Empowerment on October 18 that offered young women and girls professional hair styling and lessons on self-esteem and entrepreneurship.
