  • On Saturday afternoon, Rock Valley College placed the Jacobs Center for Science and Math on lockdown due to hazardous materials—hazmat crews from Rockford Fire Department were on campus and more details were expected.  WIFR

  • Sassy Mac Boys celebrated its grand opening yesterday in Machesney Park after moving its popular Rockford food truck to a full-time location. CEO Donald Czyzyk said the store now employs 12 locals—offering specials like catering deals and kids eat free Mondays that boost local opportunities.  WIFR

  • Yesterday, Midway Village Museum hosted its Hometown Heroes event that showed a documentary by Harlem students featuring interviews with five local veteran women—detailing their service experiences and personal challenges.
